Finally got to listen to Ele from Homepaddock on the radio with Jim Mora.
She did a great job of promoting blogs in general, so a big thank you.
Anyway. Why are blogs of all persuasion important?
Simply because they give ordinary people a chance to air their opinions.
Politicians are really only interested in one thing.
Convincing enough people to vote for them.
So they say whatever needs to be said to achieve that goal.
And their point of view will twist and turn with whichever way the wind is blowing on their day of reckoning.
A principle is only a tool to be pulled out every 3 years to win a vote and then parked up on some never read vision page of their website.
Blogging is one of the few ways to hold these people accountable.
Otherwise they will merrily impose their world on you, for as long as they can get away with it.
And when the main parties swap sides in the house, nothing really changes.
Don't be fooled into thinking that voting= accountability.
Maybe one day MSM will stand for Main Street Media.

Lou, do you have a link to audio or, failing that, what station did you hear it on?
Hi Dave
have put the link in
Thanks
"Why are blogs of all persuasion important?"
Because they give a view into opposing views or side threads related to your topic.
From there, you can digest/distill the content in your own time, forming and hopefully, expanding your views.
Thanks PM
Far more eloquently put than my feeble effort.
